Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This represents his initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet defended four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
